Australien - On the road, heading south (Inland New South Wales)

Im Inland erwartete uns eine ganz andere Vegetation und Tierwelt. Wir liebten es, die dschungelartigen National Parks zu erkunden oder einfach durch die unendliche Weite zu fahren. Im National Park "Boonoo Boonoo" bestiegen wir den (nach Ayers Rock - Uluru) zweitgrößten Monolithen Australiens: "Bald Rock".

Im National Park Nangar hatten wir unvergessliche Begegnungen mit Kängurus. Hier wagten wir uns bei Sonnenuntergang in die Wildnes hinein und landeten mitten im bunten Känguru-Treiben, das wir uns neben dem klaren Sternenhimmel als Abendprogramm aus dem Minivan heraus ansahen. Einfach herrlich - Natur und wir und sonst nichts... na gut, ein bissl Schiss hatten wir schon ; )

Wenn wir mal nicht in einem der großen National Parks unterwegs waren, dann schauten wir uns Orte an, die unterwegs aus der Steppenlandschaft hervor blitzten: "Tenterfield", die Geburtsstätte Australiens, "Tamworth", Australiens Zentrum der Country Music, "Armidale", Australiens höchst gelegener Ort, und "Shepparton", wo wir von hunderten von Kanarienvögeln in den Schlaf gekrächzt wurden.

Moving further inland a totally different flora and fauna emerged in front of us. We loved it to explore the jungle-like national parks or simply to drive through the infinity of Australia. In the national park “Boonoo Boonoo we climbed the second biggest (after Ayers Rock - Uluru) monolith of Australia, “Bald Rock”. In the national park Nangar we had unforgettable contact with kangaroos. At sunset we took a chance to go even further into the wild and found ourselves in the middle of nowhere among very active kangaroos which we could watch from our minivan, definitely better than TV at starlight. It was truly a pleasure, only nature, us and nothing else, well; we were sometimes a bit scared we have to confessJ. When we were not somewhere exploring the wildlife, we stopped in one of the other small towns which turned out to be quite interesting: “Tenterfield” - the birthplace of Australia, “Tamworth” – the Australian Center of Country Music (there was even a festival going on at that time), “Armidale” – Australia’s highest location and “Shepparton”, where hundreds of canary birds sang us there lullaby.
