Goodbye New Zealand!

Wow, wir sitzen schon wieder am Flughafen. Sind wir nicht gerade erst in Christchurch angekommen? Diesmal geht der Flieger von Auckland nach Fidschi, doch die letzten 5 Wochen werden uns noch lange in Erinnerung bleiben. Neuseeland ist ein Traum. Das Land hat uns überrascht. Neuseeland mag man einfach, das wissen auch wir jetzt.

Flugticket bereit halten, Security Check, pünktlich am Terminal sein … dabei sind wir in Gedanken noch ganz bei Flipper und seinen Freunden. Zum Ende  unserer Reise segelten wir auf einem Katamaran durch die „Bay of Islands“, unser Highlight war das Schwimmen mit wilden Delfinen im offenen Meer. Welch schöner Abschluss unserer Reise am anderen Ende der Welt.

Wie warm ist es nochmal in Fidschi?

Wow, sitting again at the airport. Didn’t we just arrive in Christchurch? This time the plane goes from Auckland to Fiji, however the last 5 weeks we will remember for a very long time. New Zealand is a dream. This country did surprise us. One simply likes New Zealand; that’s what we know now as well.

Flight ticket ready, security check, where is the terminal….however, in our mind we are still with Flipper and his friends. At the end of our journey we sailed on a catamaran through the Bay of Islands. Our highlight was swimming with wild dolphins in the open sea. What a wonderful end to our trip on the other side of the world.

New Zealand - Rivendell & Hobbiton

Auf den Spuren der „Herr der Ringe“

 HOBBITON

Unsere Reise durch NZLs Nordinsel führte nah an Hobbiton vorbei, der Heimat von Frodo und seinen Freunden. Wir konnten es uns also nicht entgehen lassen, dieses nette, kleine Dorf aus dem Film "Herr der Ringe" zu besuchen. Hummeln sowie viele kleine weiße Schmetterlinge flatterten herum und Vögel scheinen immer noch verwirrt durch einige gefälschte Blätter auf einer der Eichen, die für den Film „gepflanzt“ wurden. Ihr könnt Euch nicht vorstellen wie viel Aufmerksamkeit die Filmbesatzung in das kleinste Detail innerhalb und außerhalb der Hobbit-Häuser gesteckt hat. Es wurde sogar ein zweites „Innen-Studio“ von Bag End in Wellington aufgebaut, in dem die Wände und der Fußboden mit denen in Hobbiton übereinstimmen.

 

Being so close to Hobbiton on NZLs North Island, the home of Frodo and friends, we had to visit this cute little village from the movie “Lord of the Rings”. Humble bees and plenty of little white butterflies flutter around and birds get still confused due to some fake leaves on one of the Oaks prepared for the movie. You cannot imagine, unless you see it yourself, how much attention the crew paid to the tiniest detail, outside and within the Hobbit homes. They even have a second studio version of Bag End in Wellington, in which the walls and the floor matches the one in Hobbiton.

Der Schwefelgeruch  ging uns nicht mehr aus der Nase.

Natürliches Heizkraftwerk -  der Dampf aus der Erde wird

auf Kraftwerksturbinen geleitet und somit als Energie genutzt

und den Lady Knox Geysir an.
